Fortnightly Tour of Lathrop House
The Fortnightly of Chicago has extended a special invitation to Gold Coast Neighbors Association members to be its guests on a docent-led tour of Lathrop House, the historic building on 120 Bellevue Place that houses their society. This special approximately-one-hour tour is scheduled for Monday, April 8, 2024, at 10:30 a.m.
Lathrop House, a beautifully preserved Georgian home, was designated by the City of Chicago as a landmark in 1973 and was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974. The Fortnightly, a society of women founded in 1873 to enrich the intellectual lives of its members, has owned Lathrop House since 1922.
